There is some cracking action this afternoon with two jumps meetings at Cheltenham and Doncaster as well as an all-weather flat card at Lingfield. It's Trials Day at Cheltenham and there is a fantastic card to look forward to, as you would expect with over £300,000 in prize money up for grabs. The stable has two runners at the meeting - exciting and unbeaten novice hurdler Red Sherlock (pictured above) as well as Waterunder. Meanwhile over at Doncaster, where there is over £200,000 available in prize money we have two runners in Centasia and Star Of Salford. Tom Scudamore is riding at Doncaster before rushing down to Cheltenham for the mounts aboard Red Sherlock and The Giant Bolster - it's certainly going to be a busy day for him.
All eyes will be on the Cleeve Hurdle at 3.35pm as Big Buck's makes his reappearance following injury. He has been off for 420 days and young Sam Twiston-Davies gets the leg-up for the first time. It looks like a decent race, but if he is anywhere near his best, he should return victorious.

I see that at least one person agrees with me about the successful betting coup earlier in the week. There is a comment in the Post which reads 'Unlike your betting editor Paul Kealy, the Curley coup left a sweet taste in my mouth, a work of genius'...and no, I didn't write it!

Well, finally England managed to win a game down under - I guess the home team must have felt sorry for us and fielded their second XI! Let's hope we can keep it going now we are on a run, in fact we need lots of runs!

Why is Sir Alex Ferguson sticking his nose in at Manchester United? He says that United will not fire manager David Moyes. Does Fergie now own the club? The other rumour doing the rounds is that if Wayne Rooney stays, they will make him captain. Sir Alex will be telling him what to call when it comes to the coin toss!
The football looks far too easy this afternoon so I will having a little wager on Southampton, Sunderland, Liverpool, Everton and Hull - don't forget where you heard it first...

In boxing, unsurprisingly it doesn't looks as though Carl Froch wants a rematch with Groves as he 'wants to move on'. I don't blame him to be honest - he should have lost the last match against Groves, why would anyone in their right mind want to give him another chance?
