On tha Gallops
Today there are two jumps cards at Towcester and Fontwell. David just has the one, first time out runner in the Bumper at Fontwell, Face to Face. I see that Tom Scu is riding at Towcester and then making the dash to Fontwell to ride our runner. He will not drive over 70mph just in case Mr Plod is reading our web page! There is a good race on the Fontwell card, the £28,000 National Spirit hurdle. This is great prize money for a Sunday Fontwell meeting and to me it looks easy money for Saphir Du Rheu and Paul Nicholls.
In the football it is Newcastle versus Aston Villa today. Both managers are under pressure but what is amazing is that they are actually in 9th and 12th place in the league. Luckily Newcastle had a good start to the season and have enough points to stay up but Villa look in trouble and are only four points above the bottom three. Only 8 points seperate the bottom 11 teams and it is getting a bit tense at the bottom!
I have been watching the World match play golf in America. They have built the course in the wilds, if you miss the fairways your are amongst the big cactus plants in the desert! I wonder how much water they have to put on the course to keep it green?!
In the tennis, Great Britain play away to Italy in the Davis Cup. The Italians have picked to play on a clay surface in Naples on 4-6th April. Luckily Murray has agreed to play for Great Britain so we have a good chance of beating them.
My wife fell over some sticking out wood in a superstore yesterday and has broken her arm. She was rushed to hospital but is thankfully not too bad. Who is going to clean my shoes and clean my car? No thoughts for anyone else! Of course I am only joking. Have a nice day.
