Two Wincanton Runners

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon, two of them over the sticks at Bangor and Wincanton as well as all-weather flat fixtures at Lingfield and Kempton.  The stable has two runners at Wincanton, Prasina Russata and Vif Argent who both need to improve on recent efforts.  Having said that, they are both relatively lightly raced and have the potential to improve if putting their best feet forward.  Prasina Russata (pictured above left) had finished runner-up in a point-to-point so this longer trip should suit him - stable jockey Tom Scudamore is aboard them both.

I see that Johnny Murtagh has decided to retire from the saddle in order to pursue his training career.  During his time in the plate he won three Derby's and 4 Irish Derby's - a true international jockey who won big races all over the world.  I am sure he will make his mark in the training ranks.

Good old Paddy Power are leading the way again with more of their publicity stunts!  I can barely believe that they are laying odds about the outcome of the Oscar Pistorius murder trial in South Africa.  I see that much of the trial will be televised - the next thing you know, someone will be offering betting in running!

I'm sorry to have to say it, but the current Manchester United team has to be one of their worst for many years.  I know I risk upsetting my old mate Tony and our head lad Eddie, but surely they must agree?  How much longer will the board stand for performances like last night against Olympiakos?  They did not seem to have any ideas and I'm not sure that even five or six new players would make any difference.  A lack of heart, fight and passion seems to be the fundamental problem...that and a lack of ability.

Here's a strange one for you...the ex of Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o is saying that he is 39 years old.  He says he is 32 years old - surely someone must know?!  By the way, my 50th birthday is coming up soon!

My poor wife fell over at the weekend and has broken her humerous and needs an operation.  Bless her, I don't know why they call it the humerous - it certainly isn't funny for her.
