There's a real buzz in the yard this morning as Channel 4 Racing are filming live from the stable. They will be featuring interviews from David and Martin and they take a look at some of the Cheltenham hopefuls as they complete their preparation. As you can see from the picture above there are plenty of people in the Channel 4 team (and that is before you get to the technical guys in the live broadcast vans) - it is amazing how many people it takes to bring a live feed to your television set.

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon - three jumps cards coming from Doncaster, Newbury and Kelso as well as an all-weather flat meeting from Lingfield. The stable has just the one runner today at Newbury, Master Overseer who takes in the veterans' chase. He either wins or pulls up so I guess if you have backed him you will know your fate from a fairly early stage. He has run some cracking races down the years, but he is still 1lb higher than his best winning mark so it will take a good performance for him to win. He will be partnered by Tom Scudamore who gets on so well with him.

Did anyone see those pictures of the pike being rescued from Worcester racecourse yesterday? They were huge! Racecourse staff rescued them and returned them to the river - they certainly looked like a couple of nice fish, although I bet they could give you a fair old nip.

I was watching the cricket between the West Indies and England. True to form England managed to lose by 15 runs. Sadly the match was only watched by a few thousand people - a few years ago the stadium would have been packed. It seems that everyone out there now watches netball, sorry basketball or rounders, I mean baseball! When I was in the West Indies back in the sixties and seventies every kid played cricket, but not any longer.

The much anticipated snooker match between Ronie O'Sullivan and John Higgins never really materialised as The Rocket beat Higgins 5-1 to reach the semi-finals of the Welsh Open. It was Ronnie's first win over Higgins in five years...I don't see anyone being able to stop him from lifting the trophy now.

My football mate says that the problem with Manchester United is that Moyes should not have got rid of all the back room staff - they knew the United system. I can't say I disagree with him either.
I will be having a little treble on Spurs at 4/11, Leicester at 4/9 and Rotherham at 4/6...you heard it hear first!

Don't forget if you have missed the Morning Line live from the yard, you can always catch it on Channel 4+1! Have a nice day.
