Tom Scu - approaching 100 winners for season

There are just two jumps meetings today, at Wincanton and Market Rasen.  David does not have any runners but Tom Scu goes up to Market Rasen and looks to have some good chances.  He rides for three different trainers and it seems everyone is trying to get Scu to ride their horses!  Tom is having his best season ever and only needs a few more to reach the magic 100 winners milestone for the first time.  Fingers crossed he can do it.

I see that Barney Curley is bringing out a book about all of his racing gambles.  Just think that Barney started out as a Jesuit Priest.  It is a shame that we are not approaching Christmas time, Carol Pipe always buys me books as a present.  I have just read the Harry Redknapp and Sir Alex Ferguson books.  I would think the Barney Curley book would fit into my collection very nicely.  I just wonder if he will tell all the stories?!

The viewing figures for Channel 4 at the Cheltenham Festival were disappointing.  I keep saying that the show has no characters.  It seems to me to have got too technical and even my wife does not watch it anymore.  I actually think she fancied John Francome but that is besides the point!  One time, John Francome rang our house and Jane answered - I thought it was her grandad!  Channel 4 has got to change the line up.  The Morning Line on the Thursday and Friday morning only attracted an all time low of 132,000 viewers, I rest my case!

In the football I see that Paris Saint Germain will get £830,000 a man if they win the Champions League.  Rooney earns more than that in three weeks wages.  I say earn loosely, football wages are a joke!

I also see that a record breaking perch has been caught weighing in at 6lb 4oz.  For you non fishing people, it is a stripey fish with sharp fins on his back.  If you start fishing it is normally the first fish you catch, mind you the big ones are a lot trickier to catch, a bit like a Barney Curley gamble!  Have an nice day.
