Weekend Jottings!

I see that Manchester United have sent Wayne Rooney over to America so that he can get his head in the right place.  I can imagine the stress that he is under on his £250,000 per week wage...I wonder if I told David that I was in need of some help if he would send me off on a nice holiday?!  I would imagine that he would just send me to Coventry!

You have to hand it to Plumpton racecourse for ingenuity.  In a bid to attract more runners to their fixtures, they are offering a lucrative £60,000 bonus to any horse that wins one of their six nominated qualifying races, and then wins at the Cheltenham Festival.  They should be congratulated, asI am sure that not only will it increase the field sizes for these races, but also improve the quality of runners on show.

I understand that someone asked trainer Nicky Henderson why he didn't have a horse named Seven Barrows (after his yard).  He said that he had never had one good enough - perhaps he should start with One Barrow?!
