Ballynagour heads to Punchestown
Today there are just two flat cards at Ayr and Kempton. The jumps season has finished and for once there is a few days break before we start again. Quite often everything has started again today but it is nice even just to have a few days off! I still think a two month break would suit everyone, including the horses but I don't see this happening anytime soon. All jockey's amd trainers are back to zero again and it is a clean slate for everyone. The big meeting coming up for jumpers now is Punchestown next week. It is like a real party out there and the Irish do know how to look after you! David is likely to have a few runners with The Liquidator, Ballynagour, Seven Nation Army and Tullyesker Hill already on there way over there. Un Temps Pour Tout and Western Diva could follow them later in the week. I know some of our staff are looking forward to going or at least hoping to go!
The rain we have had in the last few days has certainly messed up a few flat horses. they are not used to going on such testing conditions. I watched the two year old race at Doncaster and they were strung out like two mile chasers!
I see that AP is part owner of Derby favourite Kereight King and I am not talking about horses I am talking about greyhounds! AP says the dog is coming back from a bad injury and will need a lot of luck. Apparently he hurt his tow, I bet AP wishes that was the only injury he had ever picked up!
Liverpool play Chelseas today and I hope Chelsea will turn out a second team. I know Mourinho would rather Liverpool win the title than Man City. Chelsea still have enough good players in their squad to turn out a good team but Mourinho will have his eye on the home match in the Champions league against Atletico Madrid in the week. Man City have a tricky away game at Crystal Palace as they are one of the most improved teams in the Premier League. Two great games to look forward to!
