Today there are six meetings taking place - four on the turf at Windsor, Bath, Beverley and Warwick as well as jumps fixtures at Kempton and Ffos Las...anyone would think it was a Bank Holiday or something!  The stable has two runners this afternoon;  Purple 'N Gold runs at Kempton and Vif Argent competes at Ffos Las.  Vif Argent won very well over the course last week and he is reunited with winning jockey Mr Thomas Viel (pictured above) and a similar level of form should give him every chance even under a 7lbs penalty.  Meanwhile, young amateur jockey David Noonan has his first ride under rules in this country at Kempton and Purple 'N Gold looks to have fair prospects in the amateur riders' handicap hurdle.

I thought that Un Temps Pour Tout ran a good race on the final day of the Punchestown Festival on Saturday, finishing third under top weight - he is definitely one to look forward to in the new season.

I did my money in the 2,000 Guineas on Saturday when Kingman was nailed close home by 40/1 outsider Night of Thunder.  How could that one win, given the ease with which Kingman beat him in the Greenham?  Fortunately I did manage to get out of trouble by backing Miss France in the 1,000 Guineas yesterday.

I was most amused by the tweet of Chanelle McCoy yesterday.  AP's long suffering wife took to the social networking site to say, "Can't believe I woke up beside a 40 year old this morning, happy birthday handsome husband."  She should have gone to Specasavers!  In all seriousness, happy birthday for yesterday AP.

The world championship snooker final is shaping up to be a good match between Ronnie O'Sullivan and Mark Selby.  O'Sullivan leads 10-7 and has shown flashes of brilliance, while his opponent will be pleased to be only three frames behind having not really played to the best of his ability.  Ronnie's safety play seems to have got an awful lot beter and Leicester fan Selby will need a good start to the next session to make things really interesting.

I thought that Chelsea looked clueless against a defensive Norwich on Sunday.  They desperately need a couple of quality strikers - Demba Ba and Torres look as though they would struggle to score in a red light district!

Liverpool take on Crystal Palace this evening at 8pm and they need to win to keep their Premiership title hopes alive.  They are 2/5 to win, although I think it will be a lot tougher than bookmakers are suggesting.  I certainly wouldn't be tempted by those odds.
