  Cloughernagh Boy Winning at Towcester

Cloughernagh Boy won the Bumper at Towcester last night in good style.  Always racing prominently he then quickened up turning for home and galloped all the way to the line.  He won an Irish point to point on heavy going but seemed to handle the quicker ground with no problem and looks a useful recruit to Pond House.  He is part owned by Stuart and Simon Mercer and it is great to give them something to cheer about.  They are Man United supporters, I wonder if they remember how to cheer?!

What great race planning again!  We have five meetings and four of them are over the jumps at Sedgefield, Wincanton, Southwell and Ffos Las plus a flat card at Beverley.  Surely this type of planning should be for a winter day?!  David has two runners at Ffos las, Virtuel D'oudon and Taj Badalandabad.  Virtuel D'oudon has solid form and has won three of his last four starts.  The Racing Post have him priced at odds on and that confirms he looks to have a great chance this evening.  Taj Badalandabad was second in is only start in and Irish point to point and is making his rules debut tonight.  He has been working well at home and although this does look like a competitive little race he should go well.  Tom Scu rides both our runners.

I see Roy Hodgson has picked quite a few youngsters for his World Cup squad.  The bookies are always coming up with bets.  You can have 11/10 that Sterling will play in the first match.  Sterling is just starting his England career while Rio Ferdinand is just ending his 12 year career with Manchester United.  Surely they must have appointed a new manager - it must be his choice who he wants to stay?!

I see at Doncaster yesterday they had a mechanical bull there to raise money for the Injured Jockeys Fund.  Some of the girls said they couldn't ride because they had no knickers on.  What is the World coming to, the bull wouldn't know!  Have a nice day.
