What a start to the new season!  David leads the trainers championship with nine winners from just twenty-two runners and the good form continued last evening with a double at Ffos Las courtesy of Virtuel d'Oudon and Taj Badalandabad.  The former was winning his third race from just four starts for the stable and while he wasn't impressive here, he is a tough individual who finds plenty for pressure and looks sure to add to his tally.  Taj Badalandabad (pictured above) put up a good performance on his debut for the yard when winning the closing bumper in pleasing fashion - he looked very green on only his second lifetime start and will certainly improve for the experience.  He is another nice recruit to the Pond House team.  I'm not quite sure about the Racing Post's analogy though - I wonder when the last time David was likened to Usain Bolt?!

You know what they say about following a trainer in form, it seems obvious to me but with a 41% strike rate and a £1 level stakes profit of over £36 with this season's runners, you should definitely be following David's horses.

There are five meetings to look forward to this afternoon with two fixtures on the level at York and Chepstow as well as a jumps card from Worcester, Perth and Uttoxeter.  With the defection of Ainsi Fideles, the stable now has one runner at each meeting - All Force Majeure at Worcester and Star Of Salford who goes at Uttoxeter.  There must be a big meeting on (it's the start of York's Dante meeting) as our local newsagent had SIX extra Racing Post's in this morning!  Mind you, looking at the massive field sizes, you deserve fancy odds if you can find the winners there!

I see that Spurs have sacked their stand-in manager Tim Sherwood.  A managers position at Spurs must be considered a short term contract - the average boss lasts only 13 months (they have had ten managers during the last thirteen years)!  I wonder if the chairman Daniel Levy ever thinks that he has got it wrong?  He's the one who appoints the manager and to my mind, he is the one who should be kicked out.  It certainly doesn't seem that he knows very much about football...Harry Redknapp should still be in charge - another Cockney and the longest recent manager with three years under his belt!
