What a ride Tom Scudamore gave All Force Majeure at Worcester yesterday afternoon!  Our four year old was as green as grass on his racecourse debut and looked to be one of the first beaten heading down the back straight, but Tom persevered and when the penny finally dropped All Force Majeure flew home to nail the favourite on the line - he must have traded at massive prices in running.  He seems very raw and will clearly come on a bundle for the experience and looks a most promising stayer in the making.  Tom Scu is riding out of his skin at the moment and has already posted 11 successes at a 53% strike rate.  As usual A P is leading the championship on 15 winners and looks to have several more good chances at Perth this afternoon.

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon - three on the level at York, Newmarket and Salisbury as well as jumps fixtures from Fontwell and Perth.  The Fontwell meeting is a card full of hunters chases and I normally check to see what the best jockeys are riding.  Mr Will Biddick is always one to follow in such events, while up at Perth trainer Gordon Elliott's runners always command plenty of respect.  There are no runners from Pond House today.

I see that Liverpool striker Luis Suarez reckons that England can win the football World Cup - that is all you need to know about Uruquayan!  He has obviously had a bang on the head - I was never quite sure about him, but that has just made my mind up!  The chief of police in Rio was on the radio telling tourists that they must not go off the beaten track as muggings are up by 43% in the last three months alone.  It is much the same story during the Formula One Grand Prix over there with team members regularly being robbed.  I don't know about winning the World Cup, it sounds like we will have had a right result if we all get back in one piece!

It is going to cost Spurs £9million to get Mauricio Pocyettino from Southampton.  He wants to take three of his back room staff with him - don't forget that he needs an interpreter to translate him into English.  He won't know what the chairman is talking about, so nothing new there then at least!
