There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with two jumps fixtures from Newton Abbot and Worcester and three flat cards at Ayr, Lingfield and Kempton.  The stable has two runners in the 3.10pm race at Newton Abbot; Dan Breen and Decoy.  They are both well-treated on their old form but it has been a while since the pair last managed to get their heads in front.  Dan Breen (pictured above) has been running creditably - he was a close third at Plumpton last time out and could be running into a bit of form.  With the stable runners in such good order, you never know!

Just think, if you had had £1 on each of David's runners this season, you would be showing a profit of £42 and if you had backed all of Tom Scu's mounts for David, every other one will have won!  What am I doing wrong?  It's a shame we can't stop the title races now!

I see that a couple of short priced favourites were turned over yesterday at Bath and Nottingham at odds of 1/4 and 1/2.  There was a 1/12 winner up at Newcastle for those people who like an odds-on punt - it was backed in from 1/7, who on earth bets on horses at those sort of odds?

I watched England lose to Sri Lanka in the cricket yesterday.  The visitors managed to score 183 in their twenty overs, while we posted a total of only 174 for the loss of seven wickets.  How on earth can we have wickets left over when we need ten runs to win a match of this nature?  There were some terrible dropped catches as well - I don't know about new England, it looks like the same old England to me!

Apparently former England batsman, Kevin Pietersen's gagging order ends on 1st October - I bet he is itching to give his views over the side's current form.  I wonder how long it will be before his book is released?  Apparently there is going to be a £200 per head lunch in London on 16th October and I reckon Kev will be telling all.

Finally, something has been troubling me for a while so I just thought I would put it out there...how is it that convicted murderers can be detained in an open prison?  I must be missing something, just like these prisons who are missing their murderers - keep smiling!
