I am going to nominate Tom Scudamore for the ride of the week for his effort aboard Noble Crusader at Lingfield yesterday.  He must have been some price in running and he looked to have no chance at top of the hill, but Tom kept pushing and kicking and his perseverance finally paid off as he got up to beat Warren Marston on King Ozzy right on the line.  It looked like Tom was having trouble talking afterwards as he was so out of breath!

I see that Carlisle have taken the unusual step of introducing an all female card on 1st August next year.  I am sure that there will be quite a few valets offering their services for the day!  Personally, I think that all of the professional punters will be delighted to get rid of all the ladies races on one card!

I was amused to see that someone has suggested that Goldikova should be nominated for Overseas Sports Personality Of The Year.  With all that she has achieved I would have to go along with that.  There are some thirty journalists who decide on the shortlist - they have probably never heard of Goldikova, and instead will put up a Russian tennis player or similar.

Following her stunning round in the Cullompton golf tournament last weekend, I have heard there has been support for David's secretary Gemma to be BBC Sports Personality Of The Year!  Judging by recent trends, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see her lift the trophy...campaigners for AP McCoy should be worried!

It has been a brisk morning on the gallops with temperatures just above freezing, but the sun is just starting to come up now and at least it is dry I suppose!  To follow is a picture of Atlantic Pearl working in company with Prince Geeno - both working nicely within themselves.
