Guess Again - winner of the Perth Gold Cup last time

There is a good jumps card at Uttoxeter this afternoon and David has four runners at the track.  The big race is the 3.50pm John Smiths Summer Cup, a listed handicap chase with 18 runners.  David runs two in this race, recent Perth Gold Cup winner Guess Again and No Secrets.  Tom Scu is on board No Secrets who was a good second at Newbury on his latest start while Conor O'Farrell partners Guess Again who goes for his third win in a row.  David also runs Azza in the 4.25pm race, a competitive 2 mile handicap hurdle and Famousandfearless runs in the final race on the card, a handicap hurdle over 2m4f.  There are also two flat meetings on today at Salisbury and Windsor.

It was good to see Charlie Brooks was found not guilty at the Old Bailey this week.  Charlie has always had a sense of humour, He once turned up at a Christmas party dragging a ball and chain!  Hopefully now he can get back to training a few winners.

In the World Cup news I see that Nigerian players would not train until they received thier bonus payment of £9000 for reaching the knockout stages of the competition.  I think this is a bit sad that everything is money orientated but just think, £9000 would probably not pay all of the champagne bill some of the England players get at the bar!

In cricket I see that Shane Warne has had a right go at England cricket captain Alistair Cook.  He said, "On Monday at Headingley I witnessed the worst day of captaincy I have ever seen at International level in almost 25 years of the game".  I wouldn't mind but Warne did not actually attend the game itself, he was in fact sailing around the greek Islands.  He must have good TV reception on the boat!  Have a good day.
