Day at the Races

I had a day at the races yesterday and went to Uttoxeter.  No Secrets lead for quite a way but in the end weakened to finish eigth in the feature handicap chase.  I thought Azza was going to win coming to the last but in the end she was just run out of it at the finish.  She still ran well though and was only beaten just under a length.  She will probably go up a couple of pounds for this good run but she should be able to win off a similar mark.  Famousandfearless also looked like the winner coming to the last but flattened the hurdle and lost all chance of winning and finished third.  This looks about his level.  I have never seen so many bookmakers at the track, mind you the last time I went there was when Bonanza Boy won the Midlands Grand National and owner Angie was a bunny girl or at least she looked like she could have been!  It was good to see our owner Professor Tisdall racing as well, it is not very often I get to talk to a professor!  I bet you don't either though, just have a think, how many professor's do you know?!

I spoke to AP at the races and he was telling me he is counting down in single figures the number of winners he needs to beat MCP's total.  He was moaning to me that he is not playing a lot of golf at the moment, I wonder what he doe everyday?!

Today there is no jumps racing but we have flat cards at pontefract, Southwell, Windsor and Ffps Las.

In the World Cup I think it is very hard to predict the last four, in fact it has been hard to just pick the winner of each match!  It is hopefully a bit more straightf forward today and Germany and France should get through but are 1/3 and 8/15.  The newspapers have photos of most of the England footballers going on holiday, well they have earnt it I guess!

In the tennis at Wimbledon it is once again, Djokovic, Murray, Nadal and Federer dominating the game.  It seems like a closed shop and the rest are just making up the numbers!  I love watching the tennis and Murray should be on Centre court about 3pm this afternoon.
