          Massannie runs today

David has one runner this afternoon, Massannie in the 3.50pm race at Worcester.  She carries top weight of 11st 12lb and is 8/1 in the Racing Post.  She was not beaten that far off this mark of 130 last time out on this track and although she made need to drop a few pounds in the handicap on her day, and on her best behaviour she is a pretty talented mare.  Tom Scu rides.  There are four other meetings as well as Worcester on today, three on the flat at Catterick, Kempton and Chepstow plus another jumps card at Perth.  The prize money is poor at Chepstow.  They have seven races competitng for total prize money of £25,000 where two of the races are worth under £2,000.  This is the lowest I have seen so far but if owners keep letting thier trainers run them for this sort of money then the track will keep lowering their prize money on offer surely?!

As I mentioned there is jump racing at Perth this afternoon.  I spent a good three days at the track a few years ago.  They really looked after us and I did enjoy my time in Scotland.  Mind you, five of the six horses we took to Perth all won so that helped!  It really is a nice course in a beautiful part of the world so definitely is worth a visit if you get the chance.

David is at the Arqana summer sale at Deauville which starts today.  This is where Dynaste, Grands Crus and Dell'arca have all come from and if you are interested in myabe purchasing a horse please get in contact with the office on 01884 840715.

I have to admit I was wrong about the tennis!  Rafael Nadal lost at Wimbledon yesterday.  He is not as good on grass as he is on clay.  He does not seem to hit the ball hard enough.  Why doesn't our country ever find a 19 year old like Australian Nick Kyrglos.  He showed no fear and played great tennis.  This is a name to look out for at Wimbledon for many years to come I am sure.  Nadal was not the only big name to leave Wimbledon yesterday.  I watched Maria Sharapova lose to Angelique Kerber and the tennis was okay as well!  It was a good match and keep the crowd on their feet, or seats!  Sir Cliff Richard was at Wimbledon as usual yesterday looking younger than ever - I wonder what he is on?!

In the football, Argentina and Belgium are through to the quarter finals.  In other World Cup news, fraudstor Wilson Raj-Perumal predicted that Cameroon would lose 4-0 to Croatia and get a man sent off in their match earlier in the tournament.  He claims he had inside information - it is hard to believe that but that but getting the score right with a man sent off does seem more than a coincidence?  Have a good day.
