Once again there is no jumps racing today on what is a blank weekend for any jumps racing fans.  I know I keep going on about the terrible fixture list but it is not rocket science to put a jumps card on.  There are lots of holiday makers down here in Torbay, Newton Abbot is only 8 miles down the road - I won't charge them for that bit of map reading!  Today we have three flat meetings we can watch from Ascot, Pontefract and Carlisle.  It is amazing that the going at Ascot is good to soft yet at the other two meetings they are watering!  Pontefract have a mile Listed race on the card worth £25,000 so that is a pat on the back for the Northern track.

My attention is already being turned to the new football season and I am just wondering how can clubs like Southampton and Swansea hope to progress when they sell all of their best players?  This is why the Premier league is so unbalanced, only Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool or Man Utd can win the title.  This will upset all the Gooners and I still think it will take Man Utd a bit of time to find their best form and I am not convinced about their defence.  There is also a match, Olympiakos versus Liverpool - it seems football goes on 52 weeks of the year these days!

Still talking of football, I see that former Arsenal player Freddie Ljungberg is coming out of retirement to play in the new Indian Super League.  I thought they were talking about cricket, but no it's football!  They have 8 teams lined up and former England goalie David James is taking part.  There must be a lot of money involved but it sounds like a good initiative.

Women annoy me...If a guy says he will fix it he will.  There is no need to remind him every six months about it!!  Have a good day.
