I was looking through the list of cold trainers and I couldn't help but notice that one of the handler's listed had gone 4040 days without training a winner...that's over eleven years! I wonder if any of his owners ever ask him if he fancies one of his runners? You certainly wouldn't be able to back them with any confidence!
Looking forward to the coming week, I notice that Saturday could see the return of Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Imperial Commander in the Betfair Chase at Haydock. Meanwhile, champion flat jockey Paul Hanagan is going to be presented to the Liverpool crowd at Anfield before the game against West Ham - it could be a sad afternoon for Liverpool supporter Hanagan!

How can a mare win 54 races in three years? Well, that's what Kincsem managed to do between 1877 and 1880 - I'm sure there would be no shortage of trainers who would love to have one like that in their yard!

Today I may even take the unusual step of taking a look at the last race of the Formula One Grand Prix season this afternoon from Abu Dhabi. Normally watching those lunatics screaming round and round in a circle does nothing for me, but with four drivers still in with a mathematical chance of winning the driver's title, I might just tune in for the final five minutes just out of morbid curiosity!
