MCP, Jeff & Emma Pearce on the Gallops
Barton Stacey bounced back to form yesterday at Fontwell and won with a fair bit in hand, David's 24th winner of the season. The owners were swinging in the trees, He is owned by the Pipe Monkees! All of his wins have come on good to firm or good ground and hopefully he can win again over hurdles or fences. That is his second win of the summer, last time it was over fences and it was under a good ride by AP who had two on the night and is getting ever closer to that remarkable 100 winner of the season already. Northern Bay had his first run for the stable and looks like he will need softer ground in the future but he ran okay.
Today we have five meetings, all on the flat at newbury, Nottingham, Newcastle, Newmarket and Catterick. there are two wooden spoons today with £30,000 prize money on offer fo the whole card at both Newcastle and Catterick.
Yesterday we had visitors and it was like stepping back in time 44 years. Jeff Pearce and his daughter Emma came to see us at Pond House. Jeff rode for Les Kennard and MCP at the beginning of his training career. Emma works for Gai Waterhouse in Australia at the moment. She really is an intelligent and attractive young lady, she must get all this from mother Lydia! Emma says she loves working in Australia despite the early mornings and is learning a lot as they train 300 horses so she is kept fairly busy! Emma's mum Lydia won on Make a Stand for Pond House.

Jeff & Emma on the Equicisor
I don't mind if it rains for the next few days. In the cricket I have backed England to win the series so a draw at the Oval will do for me! Michael Vaughn being a bit sarcastic said " I think India will do better than last week, they will make the Test go to the Fourth Day!"
Frankie Dettori was a spectator at Newmarket yesterday. His plane would not start to fly him to Clairefontaine, mind you I would rather it did not start than stop when it was in the air!
The Premier League football starts tomorrow - I can't wait! Have a good day!
