It is a typical Bank Holiday Monday in the racing world today with seven meetings on around the country.  There are five on the flat at Epsom, Ripon, Chepstow, Newcastle and Warwick plus jumps card at Cartmel and Huntingdon.  I also say it is typical because it is raining!  It is a good day for our lorry drivers as they can take it easy and not get stuck in traffice jams as David does not have any runners today.  AP goes to Huntingdon and has six rides and three of them are favourites!  Richard Johnson goes to Cartmel and also has six rides with four favourites!  If the rest of the country has the amount of rain that we have had overnight down here in Brixham I would think there will be a lot of going changes so keep an eye out for this during the action.

Warwick is having its final flat race meeting today but it is now only going to be a jumps track.  It has been going on for 300 years so it is a bit of a sad day.  None of today's races will be over 6 furlongs due to the problems the had with the stable bend and this is the reason in fact there will be no more flat meetings at the course.  We do not want to lose anymore tracks and we also don't want anymore all-weather tracks to open!

There is a great football match on Sky at 8pm this evening - Man City versus Liverpool.  There could be some goals in this game as neither defence looks that solid.  Mind you both are a bit better than Man United's!  they don't need forwards, they are crying out for some defenders, I would think about four.  Fergy got out at the right time!  He was a great manager and an even greater judge of players.  I might have a few quid on my local team, Torquay today.  They are 11/10 to beat Aldershot and I think they will win.

Boylesports are giving cash back if Anyd Murray wins the US Open.  It does not look like they will be giving any money back, I think there is more chance of his mum winning Strictly Come Dancing!

In the snooker, Ronnie O'Sullivan lots to China's Tian Pengfel 4-2.  The Chinese player is ranked 116 in the World.  It is back to the practice table for Ronnie!  Have a nice day.
