Today there are four meetings to look forward to with a flat card from Kempton and three jump meetings from Warwick, Bangor and Southwell. The stable has one runner this afternoon at Bangor as Betfair Fixed Brush Hurdle winner Gevrey Chambertin (pictured above) makes his seasonal debut over fences. If our six year old runs to his very best form he will take a good deal of beating over these larger obstacles under Tom Scudamore. Meanwhile, we run Bathwick Man (Kieron Edgar) and Lady Of Longstone (Conor O'Farrell) at Warwick.
We had one runner on the flat at Salisbury yesterday afternoon and Street Entertainer ran in the 1m6f handicap under Mikey Ennis. He travelled best of all for much of the race and led two furlongs out before finally finishing a close fifth - he didn't look to quite see out this trip, a drop to slightly shorter trips on the level could be just the job for him.
While we are on the subject of Salisbury, I see there were two races where they were limited to a maximum field of ten yesterday as badgers had made a tunnel on the track - I have never heard that one before!
I see there were a few bans floating around yesterday. First of all Louis Steward received a ten day suspension for not trying hard enough aboard Mississippi Queen at Kempton last month and then Dane O'Neill was banned for trying too hard aboard Anya at the same track...it seems these jockeys are on something of a hiding to nothing.

Onto football and Liverpool were beaten 1-0 by Basel last night. It certainly isn't the Liverpool side of twelve months ago and for all that he was disruptive, Suarez would wind all the players up and get results whereas Balotelli just seems to wind himself up.
Looking at some of the Europa League matches, it is difficult to know what sort of sides the teams are going to field and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Tottenham play a whole host of their reserves this evening.

I am looking forward to the Alfred Dunhill Golf which starts today at Carnoustie, St Andrews and Kingsbarns. It is 54 holes and the players take on three different courses and the professional players partner an amateur. World number one Rory McIlroy will be partnered by his father so that should make interesting viewing. It is the tournament where Padraig Harrington used to be partnered by J P McManus (J P used to look a few pounds ahead of the handicapper!).

A final thought for the day...44.3% of statistics are meaningless!
