Famousandfearless (pictured above) put up an improved performance to win the handicap chase at Uttoxeter yesterday afternoon over three miles.  He jumped soundly and the step-up in trip certainly seemed to suit him well - I see no reason why he cannot continue to improve and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him complete the hat-trick over the coming weeks.  Vazaro Delafayette finished fourth on his seasonal reappearance and he is entitled to come on for the outing, while the same comment could apply to Johnny McGeeney at Huntingdon.

What an incredible performance from Treve yesterday as she landed back to back Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe's at Longchamp.  She has now won over £5million in prize money and will be worth some money when she is sent off to the paddocks as a broodmare.  Jockey Thierry Jarnet has won the race four times since 1992, although I bet Frankie Detorri was absolutely gutted - despite having won the race three times himself he was jocked off of Treve earlier in the season.  She had been beaten subsequently but looked like a completely different horse yesterday, an amazing performance from trainer Cricquette Head-Maarek.

This afternoon there are just three meetings taking place with two flat fixtures from Pontefract and Windsor as well as a jumps meeting from Stratford.  The stable has no runners today.  It's amazing considering we have had a dry weekend that there are floods about and trees down in the Brixham area this morning - if you are thinking of having a bet watch out for changing ground.

I see it is Jeff Pearce's 67th birthday today.  Jeff was a visitor to the yard recently with his daughter who now works in Australia.  I see the birthday's section of the Racing Post reports that it is David Pipe's 79th birthday today - training does seem to age you!  Actually, it is former Jockey Club Director of Public Affairs.

Can you name me another sport where a player ranked 792 in the world can win and pick up nearly £500,000 in prize money?  Well that is what happened to Oliver Wilson yesterday when he won the Dunhill Links championship at St Andrews.

I can't believe that they carried on racing in the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka yesterday - the weather was absolutely terrible and drivers such as Felipe Massa was screaming at the officials to stop the race.  Why do they not take more notice of the people who are competing who know what they are talking about?  Not all of them have an agenda other than to survive!

What is wrong with Arsene Wenger?  The Arsenal manager pushed Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho...what sort of an example is that to set?  Personally I would give him a six month touch line ban.   Chelsea won the match 2-0 and look to be a very solid unit.  Meanwhile West Ham won 2-0 against QPR and while I would love to say my beloved Hammers were fantastic, the truth is that QPR are terrible.  If I was Harry Redknapp, I would be looking to sign a new contract promptly!
