It was a case of fourth-itis yesterday as Johnny McGeeney, Party Girls and Mount Haven all finished in that position.  I thought that Mount Haven may have finished a little closer in the bumper at Worcester, but it had the look of a warm race and the softer surface may have found him out under his winners' penalty  Today there are four meetings taking place with two cards on the level from York and Wolverhampton as well as National Hunt fixtures from Newton Abbot and Carlisle - Tom Scu makes the long trip up to Carlisle to ride a couple for Gordon Elliott, both of which look to hold decent chances.

There is some excellent racing from Newton Abbot this afternoon including a £15,000 handicap hurdle and an £18,000 chase.  Although there are only five runners in the intermediate chase, there is some serious quality with the lowest rated having an official mark of 149.

Looking back at some of the other action from yesterday, I thought that Mr Zac Baker rode them to sleep in the amateur riders' race at Worcester.  He made all to win by 23 lengths - the only problem is he has probably won a bit too far and will probably be crucified by the handicapper for this.
A P McCoy took a nasty fall at the first in the 5.00pm at Worcester yesterday and took a good kicking while he was on the ground.  He received oxygen but after ten minutes he walked to the ambulance, hitching a ride back to the weighing room.  It is suggested that he might miss his book of rides this afternoon at Newton Abbot - let's hope that is not the case.

I cannot ever remember switching off during an England football match before, but that is exaclty what happened last night as they took on the wold's worst side, San Marino.  Almost 56,000 people paid to watch England win 5-0 and I think they were all had over, having to pay to watch that drivel.  Despite the fact there, were 30,000 empty seats, the attendance still totalled about three times the population of San Marino.  I don't know if you agree with me, but should San Marino be in these competitions at all?  Maybe the Conference would be better suited?

I loved Gary Lineker's tweet, "I wish Roy Kean would say what he really thinks" - is Gary being a little sarcastic?  I always thought that Roy Keane could have an argument in a phone box!  Having said that, Manchester United could do with a player like him at the moment..the same goes for Arsenal.
