We have known for some time that Ryan Moore is a world class jockey. Well, it seems that the rest of the world are beginning to come to the same conclusion. Moore won aboard Snow Fairy in Japan last weekend, and the three times champion jockey must certainly have impressed the locals as this weekend he takes the mount aboard top sprinter Kinshasa No Kiskei in teh mile championship at Kyoto.

I see that author Jilly Cooper is going to be at Kempton races tomorrow to sign copies of her new book "Jump". Martin and Carol attended the book launch in London a couple of months ago. Jilly has been known to join us in our Cheltenham Festival hospitality marquee in the past, and has visited us at Pond House on a number of occasions. She certainly knows her racing and loves coming down to see all of the horses.

Wincanton racecourse seem to be making a real effort for Christmas this year - at their December 2nd fixture, they are offering a nice party package that comprises admission to the races, a racecard, a table for the day in their restaurant, two course lunch and afternoon tea - the cost is £40. It sounds like an enjoyable afternoon to me, so if you are interested get in touch with them either via their website, or on 01963 32344.

Sir Mark Prescott is advertising for a part-time secretary for his yard in Newmarket. If I can offer a piece of advice to the successful applicant: get a good alarm clock and make sure that you are NEVER, EVER LATE!
