Our Father - 2nd at Cheltenham

Today we have four meetings, two jumps cards at Ayr and Ffos Las, which means no jumps meetings in England!  There is also two flat cards at Southwell and Wolverhampton.  David does not have any runners but Tom Scu has four rides at Ffos Las.  Typical Oscar looks the best of his four rides.  The stable horses continue in good form at the moment which is nice.  Our Father was second in the 3m2f handicap chase which was his best run for a long time.  Knight of Noir was also second in the 3 mile handicap hurdle behind Rolling Maul.  From the last flight the in running betting changed three times apparently as it was neck and neck all the way up the Cheltenham hill.  I am particularly looking forward to this one running over fences as he is a lovely big type of could rate even better over the larger obstacles.  The star of Cheltenham's meeting however has got to be Rock on Ruby.  The horse who turned 11 yesterday has been fantastic over the years and he once again showed us all his brilliance.

Skylander finished third at Exeter and was beaten a fair way.  In the bumper Rinnca Fada ran a nice race to finish fourth on his racecourse debut.  He was very green but can only improve with that experience behind him.  They had a large crowd at Cheltenham yesterday, about 30,000 people which was 11,000 more than last year.  It shows that people will go racing as long as the field sizes are okay and the weather is good.

Football is a funny old game. Spurs 5, Chelsea 3.  Manager Mourinho blamed the Ref, he is a worse loser than me!  To make things worse former Chelsea player Frank Lampard scored the winner for Man City to take them top of the league and rub salt into the wounds!.  It seems every manager now has a go at the poor ref.  I think they need replays to sort it all out.  The next manager now under pressure is Everton's Roberto Martinez.  In my eyes Everton are big under achievers.

It looks like Steven Gerrard will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.  He has been there 17 years.  If he does go to America they will need an interpreter so the can undertsnad what he is saying!!

In boxing I see they have ranked Anthony Joshua in the top 10 of heavy weights.  He has now knocked out all of his opponents.  I would still not rush him, it will be harder when they step him up in class.
