It was another good day for the stable yesterday with Herbert Park producing an excellent debut effort over timber to score narrowly from the Paul Nicholls trained favourite Qualando.  The runner-up had some decent form in France so it was undoubtedly a good performance from our five year old to concede 11lbs and it was terrific for owners Brocade Racing who surpassed their best ever season with their twelfth winner of the campaign.  I love horses like him that really stick their necks out and try - they don't have to be the best, but so long as they have a willing attitude you always have a chance.  I have been racing three times in the last five days and we have had four winners...I am not going to change my pants!

Sadly following early morning inspections the meeting at Leicester has fallen to the elements and consequently the stable now has no runners today.  Wetherby have beaten the freeze however and provide a bit of National Hunt action for us to enjoy, while Southwell host an all-weather flat card.

I see that the latest development in sports technology has arrived!  Apparently some tennis rackets are now fitted with microchips that tell you whether you have played a backhand or forehand shot and even the amount of top-spin or back-spin that you have imparted on the ball.  When I was playing ping pong I always knew whether I had hit a backhand or forehand shot...it must be for people with bad memories!  What will they think of next?

I wish former star striker Thierry Henry had not put up Alex Song as the answer to all of Arsenal's problems.  We need to keep him at West Ham...he is the answer to all of our problems!

Apparently a drink a day can cut the risk of heart disease by a fifth.  If that is the case I reckon I know a few people who are going to live forever.  When I had my four heart attacks the surgeon told me that a glass of red wine is good for you, although a case of it will not cure you!

I can't believe that The Sun are going to do away with the page 3 girls.  The world has completely gone mad.  I remember back in my younger days enjoying taking a sneaky peek at the likes of Samantha Fox, Linda Lusardi and Maria Whittaker.  What are the young lads and paperboys going to do now?!
