The stable continues in good form and we enjoyed another winner yesterday afternoon when Border Breaker made all to win the second division of the novices' hurdle at Taunton under a good, positive ride from conditional jockey Michael Heard.  He looks good value for his 7lbs claim and I am sure he will begin picking up a few outside rides.  Meanwhile, I was very impressed by the success of Barbs Princess on the all-weather at Southwell yesterday and she looks a certainty to follow-up if turned out again quickly under a penalty.

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with two jumps cards from Leicester and Newcastle and two all-weather flat cards from Chelmsford City and Kempton.  It is a disappointing effort from Newcastle who join the twenty's club by offering just £28,000 in prize money across their six race card, indeed one of their races is worth just £1,559.  Just think if you have made a long journey there, there is going to be precious little left after you have taken out expenses.  It is an absolute disgrace for this day and age and it beggars belief that owners let their trainers enter in these races.  Unsurprisingly the stable has no runners this afternoon, although stable jockey Tom Scudamore is off on his travels as he heads north again to Newcastle for a couple of rides for his brother - both look to have good chances.

Following his run at the weekend, I see that Dynaste is a 5/1 chance for a repeat success in the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.  I have always considered Ladbrokes to be the best board markers in the business and I notice that they only offer 7/2 about our grey...do they know something?!

There was a good football match last night with Chelsea beating Liverpool 1-0.  Diego Costa looks like he stamped on Skirtel's leg - the pictures in today's papers are horrific.  Surely the FA must take some sort of action against him?  The Jockey Club would certainly act on something like that.

Andy Murray looked good again yesterday as he disposed of Aussie teenager Nick Kyrgios in straight sets, even though he was entitled to win convincingly on rankings.  It will be interesting to see how he gets on when he plays someone ranked above him.

I see that golfer Lee Westwood is getting the hump about people calling him "The Hoff" after he saved a drowning tourist in Barbados.  He says he is going to take a swing at one of them - I wonder if it will be a driver or an iron?!
