I must just say a big thank you for Hereford racecourse for looking after all of our David Pipe Racing Club members who went there on Friday evening.  We had two runners with Only Fools finishing third as well and many members attended.  They have a great syndicate lounge and made special provisions so that everyone could greet our winning without compromising health and safety.

We only had four runners last week so it is great to add to our winners tally.  Bashful Boy will have blown away a few cobwebs on his first run back from a break while Kintaro took to hurdling well enough on debut.  Only Fools ran her usual solid race and she will win again when everything falls right.  Hammer Dan was a non-runner at Uttoxeter on Sunday but will be out on the track again shortly.

This Week

Our first runner of this week is at Newton Abbot on Wednesday with Walk of the Roses in the mares novices hurdle.  This will be her debut over obstacles and this is her first run back since a winter holiday.  She won a bumper at Ffos Las last summer and then finished runner up at Uttoxeter after this.  She has schooled well at home and while the ground in a bit of an unknown I don’t see why she won’t cope with it and she is in good form at home.

We have several entries at Ffos Las on Thursday where we could see the return of Nibras Gold.  He was a winner over hurdles at the track last summer and this will be his first run back from a winter holiday.  He is going chasing this time around and has jumped well at home so it will be good to get him back on the track.  Steppenwolf will probably make his stable debut in the 2m3f handicap chase.  He is a winner over hurdles and has been placed over fences in Ireland.  He is our first runner in the colours of owners Dare to Dream Racing and so it is great to have their colours associated with the yard.  Pub Crawl, Ocean Heights, Chemical Warfare and Kepagge are also entered so keep checking the Daily News for the latest information on the stable runners.

On Friday we have Castle Daragh entered in two hunter chases at Stratford, he has an entry in the “Restricted point-to-point” novice race and the Champion novices hunters chase, the John Corbet Cup.  He was a good winner on his last start at Chepstow and is likely to line up in one of these races providing the ground is safe and not too quick.

At the weekend, we look forward to the return of action at Worcester and have several entries here.  This will be Worcester’s first meeting of the year having lost their scheduled earlier fixtures because of flooding during the winter.  Those fixtures were moved to Hereford but it is good to be back racing here, it is a good and fair track for the horses.  Their new weighing room will also be in use for the first time so it will be good to see what it all looks like.

New Recruits

It was a successful trip to Doncaster sales last week with some lovely new recruits purchased.  They are all settling in well at Pond House and while most have owners we do have one very nice mare for sale – Missy Mole.  She is a lovely five year old by Doyen from the family the great chaser Mr Mole.  She has plenty of size and scope and after falling on Irish pointing debut when holding every chance she was a good second on her second start at Domahane.  She came highly recommended from her handler who we have done well from in the past and she loves soft ground so is an exciting prospect for the winter months.  While we will do a little bit with her at home now before she goes on a summer holiday, she also has great potential as a broodmare when her racing days are over.  Please see some photos of her and the link below to her sales page with her pedigree and you can watch her finish second in her Irish point to point.  Please get in touch for more information.  Email: This email address is being protected from spambots.
