We will be hoping for more Worcester winners tomorrow when we will have three runners at the track.  Qalinas participates in the conditional jockeys’ novices’ handicap hurdle at 4.10pm and will be partnered by Tom Bellamy who is excellent value for his 8lbs claim, while Tom Scudamore rides Decoy in the 4.40pm handicap hurdle and Timmy Murphy is aboard Vertige Dore in the same race.

Meanwhile over at Chepstow Raslan will be a rare flat runner for us as he makes his first flat appearance since running in the Goodwood Stakes in July of last year - he will be ridden by Dane O’Neill.  Raslan may have his own ideas about the game but he has always possessed plenty of ability and could get involved if things go his way.

We will have a few blank days then before the weekend where we have plenty of entries on Sunday at Market Rasen where the ground is officially described as good at present.  Having said that, there is plenty of time between now and then for all that to change!

Sadly I was a little under the weather towards the end of last week and as such had to cancel my planned visit to Lords on Friday to watch England take on Australia in the first one day international cricket match.  I did catch some of the action on television and was pleased to see England win (and extend their lead with another victory on Sunday), but it isn’t quite the same as being there.  You can imagine how pleased my secretaries were to see me when I finally did manage to struggle into the office!

Fortunately I recovered sufficiently to catch my flight over to France this morning where I will be joined by a few of our owners as we take in the Arqana Summer Sales at Deauville over the next few days.  It is at these sales that we picked up Grands Crus as an unraced three year old back in 2008 and his full brother Gevrey Chambertin last year, not to mention Kazlian who was placed in Fred Winter handicap hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March.  We will be keeping a sharp lookout for the next potential superstar to join us at Pond House, but it isn’t just work, work, work - we will be taking in some of the local sights and sampling some of the fine French wine and cuisine as well as enjoying some excellent company.

If you are interested in making a purchase from these sales please do contact us for a no obligation chat to discuss your requirements.  I have seen the three year old’s breeze-up this afternoon (Tuesday) and there are some nice individuals that will be going through the ring over the next couple of days.
