The stable enjoyed a welcome winner heading into the Cheltenham Festival when Molo (pictured above) absolutely bolted up in the mares' handicap hurdle at Chepstow under Liam Heard. The blinkers certainly seemed to wake our mare up and hopefully they will continue to have a positive effect. She was our 103rd winner of the current campaign and as I say, it is always nice to approach the Cheltenham Festival on the back of a winner. David's team have been in good form all season long, so let's jut hope that will continue for another few days at least!
With just 24 hours to go until it all kicks off our Irish guests have started arriving. They come over and stay with us and join us at Cheltenham for all four days and have been doing so for 20 years or more. We will be off down the pub tonight and I am sure there will be a few interesting stories that come to light...all the gambles landed over the years and never the ones that went astray!
Today there are three jumps meetings taking place at Taunton, Plumpton and Stratford - it is an unusual afternoon as there are no supporting cards on the all-weather. The yard has no runners today although stable jockey Tom Scudamore is on his travels again as he ventures to Plumpton for a couple of rides. It looks like Golan Dancer could be the one in the first.
There were yet more cock-up's at the start over the weekend and for the life of me I cannot understand how it can be so difficult to walk the horses towards the tape. When they fail the first time, the jockeys' then line up against the tape just like they used to do - that method always seems to work, so why change something that doesn't need fixing?!
Talking of the starts, if you have never been to the Cheltenham Festival before, the noise from the crowd as the tapes go up for the first race of the meeting, the Supreme Novices' Hurdle is unlike anything I have ever witnessed anywhere else. The atmosphere is electric and our hospitality marquee is a great place to be for the duration of the meeting. It will be great to see so many of the old faces again, just another year older...I can't wait!

Did you know that it is a criminal offence to run onto a football pitch? Obviously plenty of people didn't realise that when they invade the pitch in the Aston Villa versus West Brom game. How can all of those fans be arrested (and I use the term fan very loosely)? The FA need to put a ban on alcohol at these grounds and they need to be some of the offenders for life, perhaps then others will think twice before doing something stupid. Judge Barnes takes the hard line once again!
There is a great match to look forward to tonight as Manchester United take on Arsenal and it will be a real test for United to see exactly where they are. They have managed to keep winning despite looking quite ordinary for much of the season - I guess that is the sign of a good team, we will see tonight. I hope the pub has a TV in the bar!

Dozy Hao Bin had an expensive shock when he left £20,000 of staff pay in a stove only to forget that he left it there. He duly burnt the money - I guess it is a case of 'cashes to ashes'! Have a nice day...not long to go now!
