Moon Racer - Champion Bumper Winner
What a day it was yesterday at Cheltenham, it was fantastic in our marquee after Moon Racer won the Bumper. He messed the start up a bit but got up in the last furlong to beat the winners of 40 races between them! It was a terrific performance from a very talented horse. It was great for owners Caroline Tisdall and Bryan Drew as they are both great supporters of the yard. They have quite a few horses and richly deserve a Festival winner. Caroline is the only professor that has ever spoken to me! It was great to see so many happy people and it was fantastic for David, Tom Scu and all the yard.
Today we have three jumps card at Cheltenham, Towcester and Hexham plus a flat card at Chelmsford. David has 8 runners at Cheltenham today. Knight of Noir, Bygones Sovereign, Katkeau, Unique De Cotte, Un Temps Pour Tout, Monetaire, The Package and Standing Ovation. The handicaps are, as you would expect, ultra competitive. In the Pertemps race, Unique De Cotte is ridden by Tom Scu and the lightly raced seven year old could run a big race. The one I like today is Un Temps Pour Tout - I just wish I could pronounce it! Both should go off at reasonable prices.
Sir Mark Prescott & Me!
Sir Mark Prescott paid a quick visit to our marquee yesterday. He is a very shrewd trainer but an even better story teller! We captured a quick photo with the master of Heath House. An old jockey, Ron Atkinson also popped in. Ron was also one of MCP's first jockey's and he could tell you everything you ever wanted to know about the horse!
I see Manchester United's Radamel Falcao missed a day out at the Festival yesterday with his Man United mates. It is never a good sign if you don't go for a day out with your club. I can see him on the way out of United.
Chelsea have gone out of the Champions League. What with our cricket and football so bad I am looking for a new sport. Ladies beach volleyball is attracting me at the moment!
You know somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen it said "parking fine" so that was nice! Enjoy day three everybody!
