Ainsi Fideles - Wins his 7th Chase of the Season

Today we have five meetings, three jumps cards at Uttoxeter, Kempton and Newcastle plus flat cards at Lingfield and Wolverhampton.  David runs La Vaticane and Houston Dynimo at Kempton plus Bladoun, Top Wood, Shotavodka and What a Moment at Uttoxeter so it is another busy day for the yard.  La Vaticane is an interesting runner for the stable after winning three of her last four starts in France.  They have all been on soft or heavy ground and while it is not that soft at Kempton we hope she will handle it okay.  The handicapper has her on a mark of 126 which could be okay and Tom Scu rides.  Houston Dynimo has done David proud since joining the yard and after a winter break we hope he can run well in the handicap chase.  Conor O'Farrell rides all four of our Uttoxeter runners and all have chances but What a Moment made a good impression when winning a Bumper at Towcester on his Pond House debut and we are hoping he can run well again this afternoon.

Looking back at yesterday's action Stars Over the Sea ran okay to finish sixth in the Triumph hurdle.  Baltimore Rock finished seventh in the County hurdle and was not beaten all that far.  Vieux Lion Rouge was 10th in MCP's race.  Tom Scu rode Next Sensation to win the Grand Annual for his brother Michael but the performance of the meeting was Coneygree winning the Gold Cup.  He was the first novice since 1974 to capture the big race.  It was a very good training performance by the Bradstock's.  Mark will now have won a enough money to afford a decent hair cut - only joking Mark!  Ruby Walsh was leading jockey at the Festival for the ninth time and David finished 7th in the Trainers money list winning £129,133.  Tom Scu finished fifth in the jockey's table with two winners and two seconds.  It was a very good Cheltenham for David and Pond House.  Our marquee was brilliant and I even managed to tip five winners showing a profit - does it get any better?!

Ainsi Fideles won his seventh chase of the season at Fakenham yesterday.  He really only had to school round in a two runner contest in which the the horse was rated considerably lower than him.  A match is never easy though and Conor rode him well to collect some nice prize money.  A trip to Aintree and/or Punchestown could be on the agend four our 5 year old now.

I had a chat with Lord Vesty.  I remember him when jokingly one of my mates asked if he was ever nick named thermal?!  We had a laugh when recalling the story!

I am going to buy some money with my football bets today.  Arsenal at 4/9 and Chelsea at 4/7.

Pauline and Tony Price, 73 of Ronkswood Worcester say their secret to 50 years of marriage is to have a weekly argument.  It means I should have been married forever!  Have a nice day.
