This afternoon there are three meetings taking place with two jumps cards from Southwell and Hexham as well as an all-weather fixture from Wolverhampton. While the stable does not have any runners today, Tom Scudamore has slung his saddle in the back of his car and makes his way to Southwell for three rides and he looks to have a couple of decent chances.
Bella finished fourth in the mares' novices' hurdle at Taunton yesterday and she ran creditably enough, finishing behind the three market leaders. She took a horrible looking fall at the track last time out and while she is none the worse for that, this clear round will have done her confidence the world of good. She looks as though she will be suited by a little further or perhaps a stiffer track - there should be races in her on what she has shown so far.
The age of the six runners in the claimer at Taunton yesterday totalled up to a whopping 53 years old...unsurprisingly, none of the field were claimed! Tom Scu was aboard the winner, ten year old Stow moving him onto 136 winners for the season - two ahead of Richard Johnson in second place of the jockeys' championship.
Also at Taunton yesterday was television presenter Jeremy Kyle. I am not sure if he was there to see his horse She's Da One win or to recruit some more train wrecks for his television show! I have never watched the show although I understand you do not need to be the cleverest to participate!
With the Grand National only two and a half weeks away, Aintree have set up four locations where trainers can school their horses over replica Grand National fences and one of them is at Pond House. We used to construct our own National style fences but these days the track in conjunction with fence builder Easy Fix put them up - they do look a lot bigger than the regular fences! They are also situated in Lambourn, Malton and at the Curragh.
There was an interesting picture of Yarmouth's newly seeded track - it resembled a motorway without any traffic on it. Their first fixture is 26th June so let's hope there is plenty of grass by then!

Why on earth would either Chelsea or Liverpool be interested in taking Falcao off of Manchester United's hands? The striker is on £280,000 a week and doesn't score any goals - are they both that short of decent players? Having said that, Liverpool currently employ Mario Balotelli so they are short of a decent striker!

There was great news for Somerset County Cricket fans when it was announced that they had signed West Indian cricketer Chris Gayle for the forthcoming T20 blast. If you live anywhere near the ground in Taunton you will need to get your windows boarded up as there are going to be plenty of sixes! A great signing.

Apparently European Ryder Cup captain Darren wants Liverpool legend Steven Gerard to help with his Ryder Cup team. I'm not quite sure what he is wanting him to do...maybe he could stamp the divots down?!

Finally, a competitior was kept in hospital overnight after eating Britain's hottest curry in a contest in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire. I understand he was kormatosed!
