Happy Easter
Today we have four meetings, three jumps cards at Carlisle, Haydock and Newton Abbot plus a flat card at Kempton. It is a quiet day for the yard with no runners but all of our jockeys seem to be in action. Tom Scu and Kieron Edgar are both a Newton Abbot, Conor O'Farrell is at Carlisle and Michael Heard is at Haydock. Channel 4 missed the first half of a race at Lingfield yesterday as they were on a commericial break! Quite funny as Nick Luck had promised "you won't miss anything!". You only saw the last three furlongs! In yesterday's action at Lingfield the unlucky horse was Sovereign Debt. He got no luck in running and was beaten a neck. I am not sure the jockey was at his best...can you tell I backed him! I also did my money on Anglophile who was beaten a head. It was one of those days! There was a record crowd at Lingfield so you can tell there is a demand for racing on Good Friday.
You may have seen David's photo tweeted yesterday but the staff celebrated Easter with Hot Cross Buns and chocolate bunnies. Mrs Pipe provided the buns while the chocolate bunnies were kindly given by an owner. We have had a bunny Grand National sweep stake to add a bit of interest!
There is a great picture in today's Racing Post of Tom Scu in a Skybet advert. He is covered in mud showing his teeth! Just to let you know that is how he turns up at the yard!
AP only went and won the camel race at the Lambourn Open day yesterday in a driving finish. There was a great commentary from Luke Harvey, "that is the the first time AP has stood next to something looking as miserable as him"! I wonder what the camel thought!
There is a great football match at lunchtime, Arsenal versus Liverpool at 12.45pm. I am sure Sterling will turn on the style to make sure on of the big clubs comes in for him. The trouble is what will Liverpool do with the money, they did not do a lot with the Suarez money! My football bets are West Brom 4/5, Stranroer 8/13 and Bolton 6/10.
Andy Murray has reached the final of the Miami Open. He has already won it twice.
A lifeboat crew rescued Oxford Universities womens boat race team as they started to sink on the Thames - Float race! Have a nice day.
