Today there are five meetings taking place with flat cards from Chepstow, Musselburgh and Lingfield as well as jumps fixtures from Bangor and Fontwell, not to mention of course the fourth day of the Punchestown Festival over in Ireland. The stable runs Dell' Arca (pictured above) in the Punchestown Champion Hurdle at 5.30pm and while he is the 66/1 outsider for the five runner field, he is guaranteed a minimum of €4,000 if he jumps round to finish last. If Jezki doesn't run (and that is a real possibility considering that one won the three mile World Hurdle at the meeting yesterday) then that goes up to €6,000 and with Tiger Roll closely rated with him there is the possibility of more, although it will be extremely difficult to beat the Champion Hurdle 1-2 Faugheen and Arctic Fire. Credit where it is due, it was an excellent entry from David. Meanwhile Tom Scu, who was on the mark at Newton Abbot last night travels back over to Ireland to ride.
Race To Glory produced a better effort to finish runner-up at Newton Abbot yesterday evening. I think that if he had jumped the last cleanly he would have won, although I wouldn't be surprised to see a pair of blinds applied in the not too distant future.
I see that Willie Mullins only had five winners at Punchestown yesterday, while David Mullins rode the winner for Liam Cusack so there was a Mullins in the winners' enclosure six times...I think I will just write Mullins on my betting slip!
I was on the gallops yesterday and a relatively new horse caught my eye. Prince Of Poets (pictured right, at the front of the string), a bumper winner looked good as he completed his work - his owners are no poets, although I am sure they can tell some stories between them!
There is an interesting piece by Peter Thomas in today's Racing Post as he says that one day another Pipe and McCoy will come along...perhaps he should have started the article off 'Once upon a time'?!

England are 8/11 shots to beat the West Indies in the next Test match in Barbados that starts at 3pm today. I am not sure I would want to be getting involved at odds-on - you could back On The Fringe at 4/6 at Punchestown this afternoon for Enda Bolger and Nina Carberry and given the choice between England and Nina, I know which I would rather be on if you know what I mean!

Did you know that in San Francisco there is a ban on any mechanical device that reproduces obscene language? The trouble is that I have a mate who swears by them! Keep smiling...
