This afternoon there are five meetings taking place with flat cards from Doncaster, Musselburgh, Wolverhampton and Windsor and a jumps fixture from Towcester.  The stable has three runners at Towcester; Susie Sheep, Lady Of Longstone and The Bank Manager.  Susie Sheep won an English point-to-point so this 2m5f trip should suit her well, while Lady Of Longstone has some fair placed form and with amateur jockey David Noonan taking 7lbs off her back she should run a big race - the Post make her a 9/2 chance.  Our other runner has a great name - The Bank Manager is a full-brother to The Liquidator and he makes his debut for the stable this evening.  We should know a lot more about him after tonight.

Of yesterday's runners I thought that My Brother Sylvest ran another cracker to finish runner-up in the 2m handicap chase at Ludlow.  He was trying to concede 12lbs to the winner Bullet Street - the trouble is he will probably creep another few pounds up the weights for getting beaten.  Over at Plumpton I am not sure what to say about Pilgrims Bay - not for the first time he looked the likeliest winner as he turned into the straight but couldn't get the job done.  He clearly possesses plenty of ability, so let's hope that David is able to coax the untapped potential from him.

Many happy returns to former snooker world champion and racing enthusiast John Parrott.  John (pictured right) came down to the yard a few years ago and played a couple of frames with some of the owners on Martin's table.  I have to say that John isn't too shabby at table tennis either.  It was a really good night and I would love to do it again at some point in the future.  Anyway, happy birthday John - we all hope you have a great day.

What a great result for British number one tennis player Andy Murray to win his first ever Masters on clay, beating Rafa Nadal 6-3 6-2 in the Madrid Open.  I have never seen Nadal beaten this easily and if Murray can keep this sort of form going, he would have every chance in the French Open at Roland Garros shortly.

Not only are the England cricket team going through a bad spell, it looks like the cricket board do not know what is going on either.  Let's hope that Andrew Strauss can get it sorted.  They did stab previous coach Peter Moores in the back when he was the last one to know that he had been given the sack.  Is that the way to run a national board?

Finally, did you know that the most productive woman in the world gave birth to 69 children?  I wonder what she used to do with all the spare time she must have had on her hands?!
