The stable was among the winners at the weekend as Kalifourchon won his first race over timber when bolting up in the novices' handicap hurdle at Market Rasen by nine lengths from a mark of 97. Our four year old showed promise in bumpers and certainly settled a lot better yesterday. I wonder if David will turn him out again under a penalty? If so, he looks the type who could follow up. Border Breaker finished third on his first start over the larger obstacles, only tiring late on - he was twice a winner over shorter over hurdles and there are plenty of races in him over fences judged on this effort.
According to the Racing Post yesterday in one of the races Tom Scudamore was still claiming 5lbs...I won't say anymore for fear of upsetting his feisty wife Lottie! She had a pop at me on Saturday night as I keep mentioning Richard Johnson...it used to be AP. You wouldn't want to upset Mrs Scu!
There are four meetings taking place this afternoon and they are all on the level. The action comes from Chepstow, Wolverhampton, Wetherby and Windsor although typically the best prize money today comes over the sticks at Kilbeggan in Ireland. The stable has no runners this afternoon.
I still find it difficult to get my head around the fact that Wetherby is now a flat track. Surely Ascot Gold Cup winning jockey Graham Lee would be a good jockey to follow around there as he enjoyed success under National Hunt rules there. I see he has five booked rides for tonight's meeting.

England won the cricket yesterday and I hope that you followed me in at even money. It was a really close and exciting match and I can't wait to back the Aussies now should the bookmakers give us any chance!

British tennis number one Andy Murray won the Aegon Tournament at the Queens' Club in Eastbourne for the fourth time at the weekend, picking up over £200,000 in the process...good work if you can get it. Mind you, he will find Wimbledon a different proposition altogether.
While we are on the subject of tennis, how can our lady players be so awful? The Lawn Tennis Association spend millions of pounds on coaching and can't produce a player of any standing. Laura Robson will get a wildcard to Wimbledon and will pick up £20,000 for losing in the first round. It makes you want to encourage your kids to be tennis players!

The US Open golf was exciting and Jordan Spieth managed to take the title to add to his Masters success - it has certainly been a fantastic season for him.

Finally, did you know that more than half of the US coastline is in Alaska? That is a cold fact to be going on with...
