My Brother Sylvest - Very Consistent

David has two runners at today's jumps card at Southwell, My Brother Sylvest and Kalifourchon.  My Brother Sylvest has been running consistently well all summer which is why he carries 11st 11lb in this handicap.  He was a good second at Worcester last time and although he is probably a little high in the weight he should run well again.  Kalifourchon won first time out this season and was then second next time, 49 days ago.  Our four year old has 10st 12lb and fingers crossed he should run a big race.  Tom Scu rides both runners.  There is only one other meeting today, a flat card at Pontefract.

I was just looking again at the travelling that the jockey's have to do.  Late last night William Buick, Jamie Spencer, Pat Smullen and Sean Hefferman were all riding in Chicago.  Mind you, if you look at prize money on offer the percentage they would get makes it worthwhile.  Flat racing is certainly an International sport!

Don't forget we do have a couple of horses still for sale in the yard with good Irish point to point form at reasonable - check out the horses for sale page for all the information but they are working well at home and are pictured below.

                  Mag the Man                                                  Still Together

My mate who goes dog racing says that it is a sport that is dying.  I can remember in my youth going to Walthamstow and it used to get packed.  I guess there are just so many other interests these days for youngsters to watch and play.  Lots of people in Brixham seem top take retired greyhounds.  To me they always look sad, I mean the dogs not the owners!

The big football game is Man City versus Chelsea at 4pm on Sky Sports.  I personally think that Chelsea need to spend a few quid and sharpen their squad up a bit.  Some of their players look past their sell by dates.  I might well be proved wrong at 4pm this afternoon!  Arsenal go to Crystal Palace earlier in the day and they need a win or Arsene Wenger will be getting some stick from the fans.  He has money to spend but seems to treat it like his own money!
