This afternoon there are three meetings taking place with two flat cards from Wolverhampton and Brighton as well as a jumps fixture from Stratford. David runs Lady Of Longstone and Spending Time in the 3.50pm at Stratford - a handicap hurdle over 3m2f. Lady Of Longstone (pictured above) is still 7lbs higher than her last winning mark although conditional jockey Michael Heard claims a useful 7lbs off her back which will certainly help. Meanwhile Spending Time put up his best performance to date when finishing a close third at this track last time - Tom Scudamore is in the saddle again this afternoon.
Mrs Barnes backed Simple Verse in Saturday's St Leger at Doncaster so we had about five minutes of celebrations before she was disqualified! I have to say, I think that the stewards managed to get this one completely wrong, while over at Leopardstown Derby winner Golden Horn won the Irish Champion Stakes despite swerving violently right and giving Found a real bump. Personally I think that the stewards need to be more consistent - perhaps they could look into getting a professional group of stewards into a studio where they can oversee all of the action from every meeting? Just think of the money saved on expensive lunches...money saving and consistency! Another great solution from the Chester Barnes Consultancy!
I was extremely impressed by the Charlie Appleby trained two year old Emotionless who maintained his unbeaten record with an authoritative success in the Group 2 race at Doncaster. He looks the real deal and I bet connections were anything but emotionless!

My excellent football form continued at the weekend with Everton beating Chelsea, Spurs beating Sunderland and Leicester coming from 2-0 down to beat Aston Villa 3-2. All I need now is my own beloved West Ham to beat Newcastle for my four-timer to come up! The Hammers are 5/4 chances and the match is on Sky Sports tonight at 8pm. I will be keeping everything firmly crossed as the last twice I have backed West Ham they have lost.

I was talking about Floyd Mayweather over the weekend and I see that William Hill make the undefeated champion 1/2 to fight again before the end of December 2017. I would imagine that he will want to win 50 fights and a handpicked opponent will be found for him.

New Zealand's Lydia Ko became the youngest winner of a women's major golf tournament with success of the Evian Championship in France at the weekend at the age of just eighteen. Currently number two in the world, she was also the youngest professional golfer of either gender to reach number one at the age of seventeen back in February. It is quite incredible how youngsters dominate so many different sports these days.
