There are three flat meetings taking place at Beverley, Lingfield and Kempton today, while to add a little balance there is a National Hunt card from Warwick. It is a quiet day for the yard with no runners, although the lorry does leave today for Perth with the runners that you will be seeing up at the Scottish track over the next couple of days. I see that following his impressive victory in the Cesarewitch Trial at Newmarket on Saturday, Low Key is now favourite in some books for the big race there on 10th October - he is as short as 9/1, although if you hurry up and shop around you may still be able to get a little bit of 12's.
Looking through the list of all time top jockeys, I see that four of the top ten rode for Martin at one time or another. A P McCoy, Richard Dunwoody, Peter Scudamore and Timmy Murphy rode 9163 winners between them...I wonder how many of them we backed?!
I see that Richard Farquhar's "Walking the Courses" marathon in aid of the Injured Jockeys Fund and Pancreatic Cancer UK reached it's half way point at Hamilton yesterday. He still has 1,500 miles to go and has lost a stone since starting his amazing quest six months ago. Richard has set the ambitious target of raising £1.4million for his chosen charities and has so far raised a fantastic £180,000 - if you would like to find out more, or donate to these fantastic causes, visit www.walkingthecourses.com.

The FA have charged Diego Costa with violent conduct following the Chelsea versus Arsenal match at the weekend...he is a real wind-up merchant. I also see a problem between the two managers Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger - the pair don't like each other very much and it spills out onto the players and crowds. Mind you, the referee had a stinking game and didn't have control of the match at all. It could be that the fine will Costa fortune...I will leave it at that!
Aston Villa need to beat local rivals Birmingham for manager Tim Sherwood otherwise I can see his position coming under increasing scrutiny. I will be having a little flutter on Aston Villa at evens and Middlesborough at 5/6 to put a bit of bread on the Barnes' table.

If Andy Murray does not play in the final of the Davis Cup in Belgium we might as well not turn up. Without Murray Great Britain have no chance...if it costs Murray a few quid, I say so what?! I am sure he has plenty enough cash through prize money, sponsorship and endorsements to be quite comfortably off and being Scottish, I'm sure he wouldn't have spent much of it! Surely a win in the Davis Cup can only enhance his legacy?

What happened when someone trod on the grape? It let out a little whine! Have a nice day...
