Purple N Gold put up a great performance to win his second chase at Worcester yesterday.  It was a competitive race and he jumped well and won a little cosily in the end.  He always looks like he does just enough, he is a bit like some of our old staff...only joking!  It was good to see owner Keith and his wide Lynne on the TV in the winners enclosure, I just hope the bookies suffered!  He is a fantastic little horse who has now won on the flat, over hurdles and over fences.  That is the ninth win of his career and it is hard to believe he is still on six, it feels like he has been around forever!  Still Together also ran a good race in the bumper to finish third on his first start for the yard.  He has won an Irish point to point on much softer ground and he should have a future.  Today we have six meetings, five flat cards at Newmarket, Chester, Haydock, Ripon and Chelmsford plus a jumps card at Market Rasen.  The National Hunt card has some great prize money on offer with a £50,000 listed handicap chase and a £35,000 listed handicap hurdle.

With Hurricane Fly retired and now Jeski out for the season these two stars will take some replacing as we always need stars.

The big game in the football is the early kick off match at 12.45pm, Spurs versus Man City.  It should be a good game and some goals as both defences are a bit suspect!  If Liverpool don't beat Aston Villa it could be curtains for Brendan Rogers.  My Saturday bets are Liverpool 8/15, Stoke 13/8 and West Ham 5/4.

At last FIFA president Sepp Blatter has a criminal case against him.  Everyone for years has known that FIFA are corrupt.  Surely the next two World Cups should be investigated and they need to find new venues to play them?  The money that has gone missing is unbelievable.

England play Wales in the Rugby World Cup tonight at 8pm live on ITV.  I just love these matches, not the actual play, the singing and the atmosphere - it should be a cracker .
