It is fairly quiet on the racing front today, with no jumps action and only two flat cards at Epsom and Musselburgh. It seems a bit funny to me that Musselburgh have two races worth £15,000 and £16,000 which is good, yet they have three races worth just £2,500! I know I keep going on about it but you would think they could put a limit on the least amount you could put up as prize money?!
I see next weekend there is racing at Fontwell and all children under 18 can get in for free and if you book advance tickets they start at £12. There will be German Beer Stalls, Bavarian food, Go Karting and on Saturday a Madness tribute band will play after racing followed by the Rugby World Cup. They do try very hard, it is a lovely track and they deserve a good crowd - come racing!
Do you remember that recently retired jockey Robert 'Choc' Thornton always refused to give interviews in the saddle after a race on the way back into the winners enclosure? He said that owners and trainers will always be first to hear my views. I think he has a point.
There is only one Premier League match today, Watford versus Crustal Palace. Both teams have surprised me with their form so far this season and sit in the top half of the table. Palace at 21/10 looks interesting.
In tennis I see that we are only going to get 1300 of the 13,000 tickets that are available for the David Cup final in Belgium. So if you would like a ticket, the LTA are going to do a ballot. It does not seem a fair split in the tickets to me!
After Batman and the Joker turned up at the weigh in for Fury/Klitschko, the fight is now off as Klitschhko has suffered a calf injury. Maybe Fury will be Spiderman next time!
How did the brass band mend their instruments? They used a tuba glue! Have a good day.
