Sunny on the Gallops
The stable has two runners today, Fishy Story at Sedgefield and Brenda De Ronceray at Southwell. Fishy Story ran a nice race on her debut to finish second at Fontwell and we hope she has learned from that experience and will run well again this afternoon in the bumper. Conor O'Farrell goes to ride her while Tom Scu is in action at Southwell. Today there are four meetings in total, flat cards at Ayr and Wolverhampton plus the two jumps meetings that David has runners at. Yesterday I thought Lilbourne Legacy ran much better to finish fourth at Newton Abbot. He kept on all the way to the line and looks like he may get a bit further. Meanwhile back on the gallops we have another glorious sunny morning, captured in my photo above.
In Ireland yesterday a photographer got a great picture of the horse, For Pedro jumping the rails. You can see the ground staff taking evasive action and that was before the race! In yesterdays action over here it proved a good trip to Scotland for Brendan Powell who's Dark Emerald won the £16,000 conditions stakes. When you have a winner it makes the long trip to Scotland worthwhile and the horse now heads to Dubai for the winter. I also notice the claimer at Hamilton was won by Jacobs Pillow. He was claimed by Mr C L Bacon for £8,500. Let's just hope it was not a rash decision!
Last night I was watching the football and I was counting my money when West Brom were leading Everton 2-0 only for Everton to come back and win 3-2! Thankfully my son told me about 'cashing out', something I have never done before and we did that when West Ham were still winning 2-1 so it work out okay in the end!
I see that London have turned down the chance to stage the start of the Tour De France. I agree with their decision - or maybe the race should be called the Tour De France and parts of England!
Arsenal play Olympiakos tonight in the Champions League. I have had a few quid on Arsenal at 9/20. Olympiakos have lost on each of their 12 previous visits to England and have conceded 37 goals....I am talking myself into a bigger bet!
A cracked Chinese vase expected to fetch £600 sold for £9560 at auction in Honiton, Devon. My gold china! Have a nice day.
