There is quite a balanced program for the day ahead with a couple of flat meetings from Beverley and Chelmsford City while there is jump racing action from Bangor and Warwick.  The stable has two runners this afternoon as Impulsive American competes in the juvenile hurdle at 2.20pm and Weather Babe (pictured above) in the novices' chase at 2.50pm.  Impulsive American won on the flat at Chepstow on his penultimate start and was far from disgraced in fourth on his hurdling debut at Perth last time - he should have learned plenty for that experience and looks to have the penalised Paddy's Runner to beat.  There may only be three runners in Weather Babe's novices' chase but they all boast winning form this season and it is an intriguing contest - our mare looked good when winning her previous start over fences and another big run is expected.

What a judge former champion conditional jockey Will Kennedy is!  He said, "I think barring injury Richard Johnson will be champion jockey".  With Johnson already 32 winners ahead of his nearest pursuer, he's not exactly sticking his neck out there is he?!  Now that's what I call information!

I see that A P McCoy is competing in the Dunhill Links golf championship and he has been paired up with Graham McDowell.  I hope McDowell is used to spending his time looking for balls!

I was interested to see that Everton player Arouna Kone was booked for having 'happy birthday' written on a white shirt under his Everton shirt.  Why on earth don't the referees book more players for diving?  What harm does happy birthday do?

I have been turning out the house to see if I did some work for somebody nine years ago and forgot to send a bill in!  That is what Michel Platini is claiming...mind you it is for £1.35 million - it's an oversight that any one of us could make!  I don't think these people live in the real world, furthermore how can the FA still be backing Platini?

It is hard to believe that Formula One rookie Max Verstappen has started in fourteen Grand Prix yet only passed his driving test to allow him to drive on the road yesterday - how does that work?

Talking of Formula One it reminds me of the time that Fangio was pulled over by the police for speeding.  Allegedly the police officer asked who he thought he was, Fangio?  To which the champ replied "yes!"  I would love to have seen his face.

A golfer stands over his tee shot for what seems an eternity: looking up, looking down, measuring the distance, figuring the wind direction and speed. Finally his exasperated partner says, "What's taking so long? Hit the damn ball!" The golfer replies, "My wife is up there watching me from the clubhouse. I want to make this a perfect shot." "Forget it, man," says his partner. "You'll never hit her from here."
