David conducted a good interview yesterday with Derek Thompson on Attheraces and after the 'Big Fella' was done asking his questions he then asked David if "the two old men" were still there?  I didn't know who he was talking about but it seems that he was referring to MCP and myself!  Careful Tommo, you are not that far behind us!  Funny enough, I was at the yard yesterday and I managed to take a few nice photographs on the gallops and I will be sharing a few of those with you over the coming days.  I saw Cesarewitch favourite Low Key in action, as well as star chaser Dynaste (pictured above) who could well make his seasonal reappearance at Auteuil on Sunday.  Tom Scudamore was down to school Dynaste and some others over hurdles and I probably shouldn't say it but they all jumped well.

Today we have four meetings taking place with two flat cards from Nottingham and Kempton as well as a couple of jumps fixtures from Ludlow and Towcester.  Tom Scudamore ventures to Towcester this afternoon where he has a couple of outside rides for trainer John Weymes.  The stable has no runners this afternoon.

It just goes to show how much rain we have had over the last few days - the three meetings yesterday all produced times that were much slower than the standard and there were plenty of non-runners due to the softening conditions.  That certainly won't harm Low Key's chances on Saturday, although it may mean that Newton Abbot comes up very testing for their last meeting of the season on Friday.

I just have to mention Megalala who won the hands and heels race at Brighton yesterday.  Such performance would generally go well under the radar but it was the fourteen year old's nineteenth victory and success under Chris Meehan meant that he has also won for nine different jockeys.  It was also his 128th career start which is an achievement in itself, while trainer John Bridger has had the teenager all of his racing life.  Congratulations to connections on this fantastic success.

Bookmakers make Jurgen Klopp only a 13/5 chance to get Liverpool into the Premier League top four by the end of the season.  Do they know that he is managing the team rather than playing for them?!  They obviously think that the players were holding back under Rogers and all of a sudden they are going to improve out of all recognition.

Meanwhile I loved Harry Redknapp's comments when asked whether he would be taking charge of Sunderland: "Me, the next manager of Sunderland?  No chance!  They were horrendous at Bournemouth!"  I would say that 'Arry doesn't fancy a move north!

There has been a big build-up to tonight's rugby match between England and Uruquay even though England have nothing to play for.  Surely Uruquay do not have a national rugby side?!  I bet ITV are now starting to wish that they hadn't bought the rights to cover this match.
