There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Ayr and Chelmsford and jumps fixtures from Exeter and Worcester. David runs Perspicace, A Hairy Koala, For 'N' Against and Prince Of Poets at Exeter, while he saddles Western Diva at Worcester. They all look to be tough races, so it seems to be a day of chances. The drop back in trip should suit Perspicace and he is now 3lbs lower than last time and conditional jockey Michael Heard claims a useful 7lbs off his back. Meanwhile A Hairy Koala would have a squeak if he were able to repeat the form of his second at the track last season. For 'N' Against was a course winner here back in August and is another with claims if putting his best foot forward. Prince Of Poets has been disappointing to date and would need to improve on what he has shown so far to figure.
It was good to see stable amateur David Noonan among the winners again yesterday following his success aboard Grams and Ounces for Grace Harris at Ludlow. David is now three out of three on the eight year old and I would now think he has the ride for life!
I see champion flat jockey elect Tom Marquand is undertaking a modelling assignment tomorrow when he is showing off the products of milliner Jane Taylor - let's hope he looks as tidy aboard Low Key in the Cesarewitch on Saturday! Talking of Low Key, he is now as short as 6/1 with Ladbrokes for the big race although you can still get a bit of 7's if you shop around. Having said that, you should already be on at bigger prices if you are a regular reader of this column.

A P McCoy is certainly keeping himself busy since his retirement from the saddle. He was on television again yesterday in the Pro/Am golf from Wentworth. In fact, he won the event with partner Padraig Harrington and cricketer Kevin Pietersen. You do tend to get a few bandits in these events and Pietersen certainly looked to fall into that category!

It looks as though Sunderland are trying everything they can think of to get their man! They have offered Sam Allardyce £2.6 million wages as well as a nice bonus if he manages to keep them in the Premier League. I said a day or two ago, money talks...

There are a few International football matches on Sky this evening. Ireland take on Germany, Northern Ireland face Greece and Scotland play Poland. I think I will have a little wager on Northern Ireland at 13/8 to give me an interest.

Finally, a couple of gags to send you on your way with a smile this morning...
Why does your top smell of peppermint? Because it's a polo shirt!
What did the cracked tea cup say? I've been mugged!
Oh dear...you're day can only get better!
