Today we have four meetings with flat action from Newmarket and Kempton as well as a couple of jumps cards from Worcester and Fontwell. The stable runs Skylander (pictured above) and recent course winner Lady Of Longstone at Worcester. Skylander is in the form of his life at present and duly won on his chase debut at Hexham before producing arguably an even better performance when runner-up at Uttoxeter (both times on good ground). Michael Heard is in the saddle and claims a handy 7lbs off his back. Michael is also aboard Lady Of Longstone who carries a 7lbs penalty for her pillar to post success last time - the additional weight will make things more difficult although if she produces a similar level of form she will still have every chance.
I thought that For 'N' Against ran an excellent race yesterday to finish runner-up at Exeter, beaten only a neck by the odds-on favourite. He can certainly win more races judged on this and has the option to mix hurdling with chasing. Border Breaker also ran with credit in the very competitive three mile handicap chase and remains in good form although a slightly less demanding track could be the order of the day for him. I was surprised to see Prince of Poets sent off joint-favourite for the 2m2 1/2f handicap hurdle. He has now finished behind old rival Bulletproof three times (the pair were fourth and fifth yesterday) and certainly looks to have his limitations.
Where have all the bookmakers gone?! I am talking about the bookies who used to have an opinion and if they didn't fancy a horse, weren't afraid to take you on? Surely they can't all have gone out of business? It seems like bookmakers are just run by computer these days - perhaps they should be called computer makers instead?! Computers don't have much in the way of character, not like the old bookies in their trilby's - they always had plenty to say!

There is some interesting football action tonight as Manchester City take on Seville. I am going to alleviate my computer maker of a bit of the 4/6 about City and double them with Wolfsburg who are also available at 4/6.

The second Test match between Pakistan and England gets underway tomorrow and with England a little unlucky not to win the first match they look worth a small interest at odds of around 11/5. I have also had a few little interest bets on the golf - they are big prices so you don't need to have much on...B Snedeker at 28/1, K Na at 28/1 and B Koepka at 20/1.

Finally, who won the Duffel Coat Grand Prix? Jensen Toggle! Oh dear...
