Today we have four meetings to look forward to with three fixtures on the flat at Chelmsford City, Nottingham and Kempton and a jumps card at Fakenham.  Although the stable doesn't have any runners today our young in-form amateur rider, Tom Greatrex has picked up a couple of mounts at Nottingham.  He will be doing very well to record a double like he did the other day, but at least it is good to see him getting a few outside rides now.

David and Martin went to Sir Peter O'Sullevan's memorial service in London yesterday afternoon.  As you would expect there was a huge turnout and everyone from the world of racing was in attendance.  MCP even had his photograph taken with Joanna Lumley (pictured above)...lucky so and so!  Sir Peter was one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet - he would often take the time to speak with me and he would speak of how MCP had changed the face of modern racing.  Sir Peter was a great man who was given a deservedly great send off.

Dynaste is a stand-out 5/1 with Bet365 for the Charlie Hall at Wetherby this weekend.  He is a 3/1 chance with most everyone else - the trip is right and his recent run will have put him spot-on.  I can't see him going off at that price come Saturday so if you fancy our dashing grey I would get on now.  Do make sure you get a non-runner, no bet proviso if you are going to have a wager as Dynaste also has the option of running at Down Royal on the same day.

I see that it is Michael Tabor's 74th birthday today.  The Racing Post says that he is a Coolmore Partner, although it should also say West Ham supporter.  Michael also played a bit of table tennis in the East end of London in his younger days.

The stewards at Bangor had a look at Absolute in the 3.00pm race yesterday.  The horse finished 7th at 50/1 for trainer Sue Smith.  He is definitely worth keeping an eye on, especially if there is any money around for the four year old - it would be no surprise if he improves with experience.

Surely Liverpool must beat Bournemouth in the Capital One Cup tonight.  The Scousers are 1/2 favourites and I will certainly be trying to get a bit of that.  You would have a great treble with Manchester United at 4/9 and Southampton at 4/9 if only you knew the strength of the team that these sides were going to turn out.  However, it seems that a lot of the managers do not want to be in this competition.
