Today there are five meetings taking place with jumps action from Aintree, Wincanton and Kelso as well as flat meetings from Newcastle and Chelmsford City (who race on the all-weather). Shotavodka is now a non-runner at Aintree, leaving us with two domestic runners at Wincanton; Lady Of Longstone and Houston Dynimo - they wouldn't want too much more rain. Lady Of Longstone is partnered by winning jockey Michael Heard again, while Houston Dynimo ran a cracker last time at Kempton and this season's leading amateur David Noonan is once again aboard. The big race of the day as far the stable is concerned is the Grade One Hurdle at Auteuil in which David runs Broadway Buffalo.
Broadway Buffalo is in the 2.45pm race (British time) and it is a three mile hurdle with prize money of almost £130,000 to the winner. Underfoot conditions should suit our Cheltenham Festival runner-up well and he will be partnered by Katie Walsh, who was aboard when he ran such a great race back in March. The prize money has attracted plenty of overseas interest with four British trainers represented. It looks like it is going to be a thorough slog which should suit Braodway Buffalo. He faces a tough task, but let's hope our lad does himself justice and comes back okay.
I was most amused to read Jamie Moore's comments about his day (for those of you who don't know, father Gary was rushed to hospital earlier in the week having taken a good kicking from one of the horses in his stable). Jamie said "He's granite - as hard as nails, there's no doubt he was in a lot of pain, but he'll be back quickly". It is so nice to hear your son talk so lovingly about you!

"Aggresive", "No Respect", "Offensive", "Stay Away"...yes you guessed it, the FA have been talking about Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho again! Mourinho will be hiding away watching the match somewhere in Stoke City Centre - if you live in Stoke, he will be the one moaning or perhaps having a go at a traffic warden, who he will probably think is the referee in disguise!
I have been in great form with my football selections of late and I will be having a cheeky little treble on Leicester at 10/11, Liverpool at 7/10 and Manchester United at 4/11...that should put the bread on the table in the Barnes' household for another couple of days!

What is the difference between a musician and a corpse? One composes, the other decomposes! Have a nice weekend...
