Quiet Saturday

                 Frosty Morning

It is a nice but chilly morning at Pond House today.  Temperatures dipped to just below freezing with a slight frost but we have blue sky and it looks like it will be a nice day.  Today we have four meetings, jumps cards at Wetherby and Warwick where the good news is that racing goes ahead.  There are also flat cards at Lingfield and Chelmsford.  It is a quiet Saturday for our yard including our jockey's.  My theory about jockey's going for one ride worked out yesterday.  Tom Scu won on his only ride at Huntingdon for Colin Tizzard, Buckhorn Timothy won at 5/2.  Willie Mullins has runners at Warwick today including Open Eagle in the 3.00pm race and he is a 5/1 chance according to the Racing Post.  He also has Black Hercules in the 1.50pm which is a 10/11 chance.  Surely one of these Irish raiders will win?!

 Sam Twiston-Davies is a big kid at heart.  He spent last Sunday bouncing up and down on trampolines at Airhop, the largest trampoline park in the middle of Bristol.  It has got more than 150 trampolines so if you have got a spare bit of time to kill you know where to go, mind you it is a bit up and down!

There was a good knock from Joe Root in the Test match yesterday as he scored 106 not out and England are 258 for 5 and are only 75 runs behind South Africa.  If we get another couple of hundred it could turn out exciting.  Root is also carrying an injury.

The football today looks interesting.  Chelsea are 5/6 to beat Everton, plus Bournemouth 19/20 to beat Norwich.  My 2/1 on golf bet on Europe looks good as they are well on top - I just wish I had put more money on!

I find it hard to believe that David Haye wants to box again.  As soon as he fights one to the real heavy weights he will get knocked out.  I cannot wait to see him fight Anthony Joshua.  Haye fights Australian Mark De Mori tonight.

What is the difference between a soldier and a police man?  You can't dip a police man in your egg!  Have a nice day.
